Free practice test

Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 3, 2026

This policy explains what information DMVWise (“we,” “us”) collects when you use dmvwise.com, how we use it and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Information we collect

Your practice progress stays on your device

Your language choice, practice scores, missed questions and whether you’ve unlocked the full version are saved in your web browser’s local storage on your own device. This information is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes it.

Payments are handled by Stripe

When you buy the full version, you pay on a checkout page run by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details (such as card number and billing information) and your email address to process the payment and send your receipt. We never see or store your full card number. We receive a record of the purchase, such as the amount, date and the email address used, which we use to provide the product, handle refunds and answer support requests. Stripe’s use of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Information sent automatically

Like most websites, our web host records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. These server logs are used to keep the site running and secure.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it to reply.

Cookies

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our site software sets cookies only for site administrators who log in. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy first.

How we use information

  • To provide the practice test and the full version you purchased
  • To process payments, refunds and support requests
  • To keep the site secure and working

We don’t sell your information

We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising, and we don’t use it to build profiles about you. We share information only with the service providers that run the site for us (our payment processor and web host), or when the law requires it.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, you can ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and you have the right not to be treated differently for making a request. To make a request, email support@dmvwise.com. We’ll respond within the time required by law. Because we keep so little, in most cases the only information we hold is your purchase record.

Children

DMVWise is meant for people preparing for a California driver’s permit or license, who are generally 15 and older, and for their parents. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Purchases should be made by an adult or with a parent’s permission.

Security

Our site uses an encrypted (https) connection, and payments are processed by Stripe, which is certified to the security standards used for card payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the little information we keep.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date above.
